Madisyn Stogsdill, Content Marketing Intern

Each summer, Lemonly recruits some truly talented Slice interns to hang out, provide riveting conversations, and maybe even work a little, too.

All jokes aside, this is a serious (and citrusy) matter — the 2026 batch is our first to have four Slicers. The applicants were all just too talented to pass up (I say as a totally unbiased intern myself). Let’s learn a little more about these main squeezes and why they’re so special.

Tell us about your background. Hometown? College and major?

Greta: I grew up in Norwood Young America, Minnesota, a small town about 40 minutes west of the Twin Cities. This past May, I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where I majored in graphic design with a studio emphasis and picked up a marketing minor along the way!

Madisyn: I’m from a little bit of everywhere and moved fifteen times growing up — but I call Overland Park, Kansas, my home. This fall, I’ll be a senior at Augustana University here in Sioux Falls with a major in journalism and minor in art.

Quinn: I always tell people I’m from Atlanta, but I’m actually from Alpharetta, Georgia, which is forty minutes north of ATL. I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design and majored in animation.

Reagan: I am from small-town Parkston, South Dakota. It’s a population of 1,500 all squeezed into a square mile. After leaving home, I went to South Dakota State University (go Jacks!) and majored in advertising with a minor in marketing.

What’s your favorite app? Appetizers or mobile apps are both fair game.

Greta: Pretty much anytime mozzarella sticks are on the menu I have to convince the table to get some! As far as apps go, although this isn't technically an app, my guilty pleasure is scrolling through Facebook Marketplace looking for things I absolutely don't need! #MarketplaceNeedsItsOwnApp!

Madisyn: Definitely Fruit Ninja on my iPad… no better than a kid — except I kind of am, and have a high score of more than a thousand.

Quinn: You can’t go wrong with a good charcuterie board! I actually make them all the time with inspiration from my favorite app, TikTok. Unfortunately, I have an addiction to both…

Reagan: Onion rings hate to see me coming. You can’t beat pairing them with some house ranch. For application, I have to pick TikTok. Not only do I doomscroll regularly, but I also post my personal and professional work on it.

Name a “no-skip” album — no judgment.

Greta: As a long-time Directioner, Four by One Direction is my go-to for a perfect album experience! A close second is “Unreal Unearth" by Hozier. Pardon the pun, but his vocals are truly unreal!

Madisyn: I had a huge emo phase in middle school that, honestly, is ever-present — Pretty. Odd. by Panic! At The Disco is an all-time banger. Each song flows so beautifully into the other, and the piece complements their discography, offering a unique lil flavor. The cover art is also gorg.

Quinn: I’m a big Beatles fan, so I have to go with Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. If we’re talking more underground, The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1 by Lord Huron has zero skips.

Reagan: Diamonds & Gasoline by The Turnpike Troubadours. I could endlessly go on about how incredible a storyteller Evan Felker is. Simply put, the album feels like summer. Street dances, swimming in the river, and the feeling of the sun are all bundled into this album. If you have time to listen to their music, really listen to the story behind each of their songs!

Where do you draw your creative juices from?

Greta: I get so inspired by my peers and fellow creatives! I love sharing ideas with others and getting to see what inspires and motivates them to make art. It's like being in one giant whirlpool of creativity! I also love nature, hiking, and exploring Minnesota, all of which help me clear my mind and inspire me to create.

Madisyn: Some of my best stories have been inspired by talking to random people on the street, in the grocery store checkout line, or whose dogs I’ve pet. No introvert is safe from me.

Quinn: I love hearing about my friends and peers’ work that they're making, and I find it inspiring to see how passionate they are about their art! It really gets me interested in working on my own creative projects so that I can share with everyone, and hopefully inspire others.

Reagan: I regularly go back to YouTube for inspiration. You could spend a lifetime watching others' creative work and drawing from it. It’s a great place to find inspiration, and a tutorial attached to it.

Biggest personal and professional achievement?

Greta: About a year ago I had the opportunity to study abroad in Denmark and Sweden! It was a three-week-long trip focused on Scandinavian art and design. I had never been out of the country, making it an amazing opportunity to break out of my comfort zone and embrace adventure. I made so many friends and gained so much insight and inspiration.

Madisyn: I used to be a really shy kid, so I’m pretty proud of how far I’ve come! Over the past few years I’ve also been published in some literary and visual arts magazines, as well as being granted a Pinnacle award for first in “Best Coverage of Faith” for my story "Art exhibit illustrates professor’s ‘roadtrip with cancer.’"

Quinn: I directed an animated short film my senior year of college, which was a really awesome experience. It's called "The Boulder Theory," and it's on YouTube if anyone is interested in watching it. ;)

Reagan: I recently got engaged and am set to tie the knot this September! Professionally, our NSAC capstone project at SDSU placed second regionally! Essentially, we created a mock advertising campaign for the NFL and pitched our ideas to actual NFL representatives against other universities in our region.

Take a look at Quinn's short film, The Boulder Theory, below.

Name one dream client and why Lemonly should work with them.

Greta: As someone who’s lived in Duluth, I think it would be really cool for Lemonly to work with Grandma’s Marathon, one of the best-known marathons in the U.S. Located in Duluth, the race is known for its small-town charm and stunning route. I think Lemonly’s Midwestern roots, combined with our beautiful design work, would align well with the race! Also, I think an infographic featuring Duluth and the North Shore would be really cool.

Madisyn: Uhh Minecraft. Core part of my childhood, and as of recent, they’ve really been upping their marketing game. Lots of game updates, and their Insta has been pumping out some truly funny memes. We gotta get in there!

Quinn: I would love to do some animated content for a natural history museum! Lemonly has a huge list of interesting, education-based content already, and a museum client would fit right in.

Reagan: Lemonly needs to do some work for Vortex Optics. They create high-quality binoculars and weapon optics for public and commercial use. As an outdoorsman, I love their products — as an advertiser, I love their marketing campaigns. I feel that an animated video to showcase the statistics of their products could be very visually appealing and fun. Filming a commercial for their brand would also be awesome!

Favorite animal, and how does that relate to your position?

Greta: True to my rural Minnesota roots, one of my favorite animals is a cow! I grew up on a dairy farm and got to know these animals well. Cows are observant, patient, and productive. Designers need to research, gather inspiration and understand the problem before coming up with a solution. Additionally, like a cow takes grass and creates milk, designers take ideas, feedback, and information to create visuals. I think it's mooooo-velous!

Madisyn: Real big fan of unicorns. Sometimes, to tackle a massive project or talk with intimidating people, I’ve gotta dive right in with the confidence of a sexy beast with a weapon protruding from their head.

Quinn: Orangutans — all they do is chill in trees and eat fruit all day… Ahh, what a life.

Reagan: I have to go with dogs. I feel like I’m always on the run somewhere, and I love to socialize!

Name something on your bucket list.

Greta: Definitely to travel more! My dream trip is to New Zealand for two reasons: Because Lord of the Rings was filmed there, and I want to do a massive road trip down the entire country. My favorite part of traveling is the downtime away from popular attractions where I experience parts of the destination that feel authentic.

Madisyn: Going to the Chatsworth House in England, which was Mr. Darcy’s home in Pride and Prejudice. I would also love to visit some of the other locations of famous scenes from the movie.

Quinn: I want to visit every state in the U.S. So far, I’ve got 29 to go!

Reagan: I would love to film something with an ARRI Alexa someday. I feel like that’s the pinnacle of cinema quality. I would also love to create a documentary about the outdoors or wildlife — filming that on an ARRI would be insane!

As a kid, what did you say you were going to be when you grew up?

Greta: I wanted to be an artist! When I was a kid, I had absolutely no idea what graphic design was, so my dreams mostly revolved around me being a famous painter and creating masterpieces of mermaid princesses. I think my younger self would think it's pretty cool that I still got to live out our childhood dream as a designer!

Madisyn: A princess! And an artist, a veterinarian, and an author. Or a cat. Also a cupcake baker.

Quinn: Paleontologist! I’ve always had a huge interest in dinosaurs and prehistoric stuff (still do), and imagined how cool it would be to have a whole job related to that. Of course, I now know that there's a lot more to that than just digging up bones.

Reagan: I wanted to be a zoologist. I really loved animals and wanted to work at a zoo or with outdoor conservation!

So… what drew you to Lemonly?

Greta: I knew of Lemonly years before my internship. I always adored their heavy use of illustration and their unique focus on making the best infographics. With their work with animation and branding, I really felt like I would have the chance to flex and grow all my design muscles!

Madisyn: I actually heard about this opportunity from the lovely head of Augie’s writing center, Danny Gerling. He truly is an angel — and if he thought I was a good fit for something, then by all means, I was going to jump right into it. I’m really glad it worked out, and knowing someone else believed in me, along with the whole Lemonly team, has really boosted my confidence.

Quinn: I actually came across Lemonly on LinkedIn and saw that they were recruiting for summer internships. Of course, I had to look at their website, and I was blown away by the awesome work they were producing. I really wanted to learn more about their animation and graphics, and now as an intern, I’m truly learning the ropes!

Reagan: Honestly, Michael Mazourek! While working for SDSU, we had a video shoot where we partnered with Lemonly. Michael was the director, and I helped with the production. It was a really good learning experience. I had also heard all about Lemonly as a freshman at SDSU and was interested in working here years ago.

Any goals for this summer?

Greta: I want to be a social butterfly! I tend to be a pretty shy person, so this summer I want to make an effort to talk to and get to know as many people around the office as possible. This is especially important to me since I am working remotely for most of the summer. Everybody here is so incredibly talented, and I hope to gain even a fraction of their wisdom.

Madisyn: No easy feat, but I’d like to learn as much as possible from this internship — about my craft and myself. I feel like I’ve got some imposter syndrome sometimes, and I know I am truly talented, but it takes some guts to believe that.

Quinn: Two things! Of course, as an animation intern, I want to get better at animating, especially on programs that I don’t have a lot of experience using. But, I also want to get better at meeting new people and becoming more social, especially since I’m in a new place!

Reagan: Learn to work outside of my comfort zone. I would love to expand on my knowledge of animation and After Effects. I would also love to learn 3D modeling. Mix those with my expertise in video and I would complete the triangle of unstoppable media production!

One sweet, one sour: One thing you love and one thing you hate.

Greta: I love the nice summer weather! I get to be outside, everything is green, and I get to feel the sun on my face — but I hate when it's super hot. I don't like feeling hot and sticky all the time. Plus I burn really easily!

Madisyn: I really enjoy tiny animals, especially rodents. I hate how I can’t have and take care of them all!

Quinn: I love driving my car, but I hate traffic.

Reagan: I love the outdoors, but I despise windy days.

And there you have it, another exceptional group (I daresay with some spectacular taste in music). Stay tuned for what more these interns have to say and sign up for the Lowdown to get all the latest.
